SAFARI DESTINATIONS

NAMIBIA
ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Dramatic and vast, with a dusting of salt, Etosha National Park is the natural star of the Namibian bushveld.

As Namibia’s prime wildlife game reserve Etosha is home to 114 species of mammal including giraffe, wildebeest, cheetah, hyena, zebra, antelope, and the Big Five. Smaller but just as captivating, you will also see warthog, jackal, ground squirrel, bat-eared fox, and the fearless honey badger. Floodlit waterholes provide an ideal setting for game viewing as animals are drawn to them throughout both the day and night.

A unique feature of Etosha is Etosha Pan -the Great White Place. Covering almost 5000 km2 within the park, it is typically dry and hypersaline, making it inhabitable for most species. The stark contrast between the pan’s barren “moonscape” and the surrounding mopane woodlands and grasslands makes it a unique safari destination, promising outstanding photographic opportunities. And for those “twitchers” among us, you can look forward to identifying 340 bird species.

Eco camps, luxury tented camps, chalets and lodges around Etosha offer premier bush experiences. Comfortable, elegant and always in touch with nature, they provide the perfect environment for sharing bush stories over sundowners. Offering game drives, night drives and a wealth of knowledge from the resident game ranger, you will be sure to lose yourself in your Etoshan African adventure.
